Hi there, I'm Genevieve Laing and I'm a mechanical engineer with over a decade of experience bringing unique and innovative products to market. Throughout my career, I’ve worked on over 30 products across multiple industries. I understand what it takes to develop technologies and turn them into products that are intuitive, innovative, and meet the requirements of the end user. I’ve led engineering teams through challenging and turbulent projects with a steady hand, following a deliberate development approach to find the best solution. At East Hill I'm taking my experience and expertise and applying it to projects focused on sustainability and climate technologies.

My career started as a Research Assistant in Cardiovascular BioRobotics Lab at Children’s Hospital Boston where I collaborated on the development of a minimally invasive surgical robot focusing on end effectors for mitral valve repair. After earning my master's, I joined the R&D team at Medtronic working on the O-arm to help design their second generation machine. At the end of the design cycle, I moved to Cooper Perkins to gain experience across multiple industries.

At Cooper Perkins, I was a technical lead and project manager on a number of projects ranging from drug delivery mechanisms and surgical robots to sports equipment and consumer products. I gained experience in early-stage concept development all the way through design for manufacturing, retiring risks as early as possible by utilizing in-depth analysis, prototyping early, and understanding the design fundamentals. My role evolved to director where I was able to demonstrate my ability to understand and balance business, customer, and technical factors to successfully run the operations of the 30+ engineering team.

Check out my projects page to learn more about my work and send me an email if you'd like to discuss your next project, looking for tips on biking cross country, or would just like to say hello.
